Product Overview‌

Tin-Free Steel (TFS), also known as Electrolytic Chromium-Coated Steel (ECCS), is widely used in corrosion-resistant packaging where tin coating is not required. CJM supplies TFS with uniform chromium and chromium oxide layers that offer excellent adhesion, paintability, and resistance to sulfur-based compounds — making it ideal for food lids, beverage crowns, paint cans, and chemical containers.

Compared to tinplate, tin-free steel has distinct advantages in certain packaging applications. It resists sulfur-induced corrosion, offers better lacquer adhesion, and provides excellent surface finish for printing and coating. These features make it suitable for packaging products with longer shelf-life, acidic or sulfur-rich content, or decorative branding.
