Processing, Fabrication & Industry FAQs
Can these plates be used for seismic design applications? Yes, plates like S355J2, Q460C, and S420NL are commonly used in seismic zones and comply with relevant toughness and elongation requirements.
Are all grades available with ultrasonic testing (UT)? Yes, UT can be provided upon request according to EN10160 or ASTM A578, Level B/C.
Do you offer surface treatments like primer or galvanizing prep? Yes. Shot blasting + shop primer is available. For galvanizing, ensure compatibility of Si content (under 0.20%).
Is custom plate rolling possible? Yes. Besides stock sizes, we can roll-to-order thicknesses according to your demand.
What welding recommendations apply for these high-strength steels? Use low hydrogen electrodes (e.g., E7018 or E10018) and follow controlled preheat/interpass temp as per WPS.
